This American multinational, a key player in the high-tech energy sector, is driving the transition to sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy solutions. Headquartered in the U.S, the company operates in 140+ countries with 80,000 employees and a projected 2024 revenue of $34–$35 billion. In France, it brought together 550 employees from 13 business units under one roof in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
Entrusting Allure with this milestone, the company sought a partner with international expertise and local insight to create a workplace that fosters innovation and collaboration.
The need
Facing the challenge of downsizing office space while maintaining a high-quality employee experience design, the company envisioned a dynamic, agile workplace. Key requirements included:
- A striking reception area to create a “wow” factor.
- Modular spaces for flexible configurations.
- Seamless integration of robust IT infrastructure.
Spanning 7,100 m² in a newly renovated building, the project required precision in both design and execution.
From brief to delivery
Allure joined the project during the Define phase, and navigated the complexities of uniting 13 business units, balancing diverse needs through multiple employee experience design scenarios. The result: a workspace that harmonizes flexibility, collaboration, and brand identity.
Two design concepts emerged—one rooted in natural, eco-friendly materials, the other reflecting the company’s Cambridge heritage with industrial elements like brick and metal.
Key Design Features
- Organic-shaped boardrooms with soft tones and acoustic lighting.
- Collaborative zones featuring curved lines, wooden accents, and depolished glass.
- Quiet spaces designed for deep work, enhanced by acoustic panels and greenery.
The layout distributed teams across multiple floors, balancing proximity and functionality. Reception areas and meeting rooms were centralized, while open benches and collaborative spaces lined the perimeter.
Construction began with preparatory work, including floor and ceiling adjustments to accommodate technical installations. The fit-out involved:
- Electrical cabling under raised floors for seamless connectivity.
- Ventilation and plumbing adjustments above ceilings for optimal performance.
- Installation of partitions, flooring, and acoustics to support a quiet, focused work environment.
With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games posing logistical challenges, careful planning ensured uninterrupted material deliveries and workforce transport. Despite these complexities, the project was delivered on schedule within 4.5 months, creating a workspace that blends efficiency with employee well-being.
The client appreciated Allure’s collaborative approach, ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, and commitment to delivering a workspace aligned with their brand and operational goals. This success further strengthens our partnership, and we look forward to future collaborations.
Stay tuned!
