Following a successful collaboration in 2022, this global financial firm reengaged with Allure to support a new office move within Brussels, Belgium. With their EMEA real estate team based in London, they needed a partner who could take the lead locally—and guide the process from early workplace strategy through to delivery.
The brief called for a balanced environment: professional and welcoming, functional and elegant, with spaces suited to focused work, meaningful collaboration and workplace wellbeing.
Workplace Strategy Driven by Understanding
Allure’s workplace strategy team began by meeting with employees to understand their day-to-day needs, and design a workplace that promotes their wellbeing. What emerged was a clear set of priorities:
- A distinct separation between a welcoming, bright client facing area and a collegial, collaborative work floor.
- A layout that supports the kind of confidential conversations central to the firm’s work.
- A collaborative environment with improved spaces for meals, breaks, and informal exchange.
Ensuring Smooth Integration and Compliance
The Louise Tower’s advanced systems demanded a high level of coordination with building management, landlords, and third-party consultants. Allure ensured seamless compliance with both integration protocols and sustainability standards, supporting the client in navigating regulatory requirements without adding complexity to the project journey.
Defining A Layout That Supports Focus and Flow
A balanced layout was developed, separating client-facing spaces from the team’s operational zones, ensuring clear, logical flows and privacy:
- At the entrance, guests arrive directly into the reception and waiting area, complete with a mini fridge for refreshments.
- Two client meeting rooms, designed with excellent acoustics and intuitive tech, and equipped with their own coffee stations.
- The two zones are separated by a corridor, with a secure doorway that ensures acoustic privacy but still lets natural light through.
- Three individual offices were designed for multifunctional and optimized use, taking inspiration from existing layouts in London and Amsterdam.
- The open workspace space is fully equipped with ergonomic seating and height-adjustable desks to support comfort, focus, and wellbeing.
- A phone booth was installed to allow for private calls or quiet focus when needed.
A Space That Reflects, Rather Than Declares
The concept leaned into understated elegance. A soft, neutral palette created a calm backdrop for work, with subtle nods to the firm’s identity—like the quiet presence of a blue tone throughout.
The materials were selected for their quality and sustainability, favoring high-quality, natural finishes over synthetic materials wherever possible. The floor itself offered generous natural light—surrounded by full-height windows and oriented for sunlight throughout the day.
Designing for Workplace Wellbeing
Early on in the interviews, employees expressed a desire for a well-equipped kitchen and shared dining space, as well as areas that support small, physical activities for throughout the day.
Allure prioritized this in the layout, integrating a large communal kitchen that anchors the team area, designed to feel more like a shared café than a breakroom. This hub for informal exchanges throughout the day contributes to a balanced working rhythm.
